Cub Scout Pinewood Derby 2008

As the mother of four boys, it was inevitable that we would get involved in Scouting. My children love it and after sitting on the sidelines for a year or so, the previous Cubmaster wanted to give up the title and ask me to step in. My personality being one of a take charge kind of person and the joy that I see on my children's faces when they're involved with something with scouting convinced me that this is something that I can do. Well, I've been the Cubmaster for the past couple of months and let me tell you that volunteering is another job all in itself. You have to plan out the meetings, make sure the boys are on the right track for earning their badges and that they are having a good time. It's like being the social coordinator for a whole "pack" of children (I hope the pun wasn't lost on you). Anyway, my boys were preparing for the Pinewood Derby. We were the host pack and we wanted our cars to be GGGRRREEEEAAAATTTT!!!! Here is a scrapbook page that I did to commemorate the prepartion.
